Liver Cirrhosis Signs and Symptoms

Symptoms of liver cirrhosisCirrhosis is an compilication of many liver diseases that is characterized by irregular and capacity of the liver. The diseases that lead to cirrhosis do so on the grounds that they harm and execute liver cells, and the inflammation and repair that is connected with the expire liver units causes scar tissue to structure. The liver cells that don’t perish reproduce in an attempt to displace the units that have expired. This brings about bunches of recently structured liver cells (regenerative knobs) inside the scar tissue.

hepatitis-symptoms

Among the many diseases that can affect the liver the most common is Hepatitis (a viral infection of the liver). Drugs, viruses, bacteria, mushrooms, and parasites like amoebas or giardiasis can cause hepatitis. The most common hepatitis viruses affecting the liver are named for letters of the alphabet: Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C,  Hepatitis D, and Hepatitis E.

  • Hepatitis A takes 14 to 21 days after infection to cause symptoms. It is transmitted through food. Once infected with HAV, some symptoms such as dark yellow urine and fatigue will begin to appear within 25 days
  • Hepatitis B is on the increase worldwide. It is transmitted through direct contact with blood, serum, saliva, faeces, urine, and sexual contact
  • Hepatitis C is a truly serious disease with no known effective treatment. It is transmitted through blood and body fluids in transfusions, injections, the sharing of IV needles with drug users, and possibly by sexual contact with exposed partners.
  • Hepatitis D only occurs in the presence of Hepatitis B virus
  • Hepatitis E is another common type of hepatitis in developing countries. It occurs in epidemics. The infection route for it is faucal-oral, the same as the route for Hepatitis A virus; therefore, again, you must be very careful in what you eat and drink.

Causes of Cirrhosis of Liver

In cirrhosis of the liver, scar tissue replaces normal, healthy tissue, blocking the flow of blood through the organ and preventing it from working as it should.

The diseases that lead to cirrhosis do so because they injure and kill liver cells, and the inflammation and repair that is associated with the dying liver cells causes scar tissue to form. The liver cells that do not die multiply in an attempt to replace the cells that have died. This results in clusters of newly-formed liver cells (regenerative nodules) within the scar tissue. Some of the Causes of Cirrhosis of Liver is as:

  • Chronic hepatitis C

Weak Digestion

Weak Digestion

Weak digestion is basically a health problem that can become very serious, and is often the cause of many seemingly unrelated diseases.

Digestion is a huge topic, and something we should pay a lot of attention to. Without proper digestion, our body won’t get all its vital nutrients, and vitamins, and a poor digestion can lead to a whole array of health problems, such as constipation, and colon disease.

Weak Digestion

Weak Digestion

The stomach produces about two liters of digestive secretions per day. Insufficient activity of the nerves that control the stomach can cause a reduction in the production of stomach acid and pepsin (protein digesting enzyme), which causes a major slowdown of food digestion. Sometimes even the mechanical churning of the stomach is slowed. Stomach acid and pepsin are strong substances that can turn a piece of meat to liquid, and are important to destroy incoming bacteria mixed with foods. The reduced stomach acid hampers digestive function, incapacitating hormones and digestive enzymes. When levels are low, patients often report feeling like the food sits in their stomach like a lump. This reaction causes a loss of appetite, nausea, and distended abdomen. As a diagnostic point of view, the tongue is often puffy and swollen, and is sometimes pale or has a thick white coating. Weak digestion can sometimes cause paradoxical symptoms of stomach burning, perhaps due to irritation, in which case the standard Western practice of treatment with acid-blocking drugs can be very harmful. Digestion tends to weaken as we age, in part due to reduced hydrochloric acid secretion.

How You Eat is More Important Than When or What You Eat

In my book, The 3-Season Diet I discuss the three major contributing factors of weight gain, in order of importance: how, when and what you eat. The state of one’s mind while eating (how you eat), even from the youngest age, may be one of the most important factors in our digestive strength. The how, when and what you eat will be a topic in a future newsletter.

Mechanical and chemical digestion :

Mechanical and chemical digestion begin in the mouth where food is chewed, and mixed with saliva to break down starches. The stomach continues to break food down mechanically and chemically through the churning of the stomach and mixing with enzymes. Absorption occurs in the stomach and gastrointestinal tract, and the process finishes with excretion. Digestion is usually divided into mechanical processing to reduce the size of food particles and chemical action to further reduce the size of particles and prepare them for absorption.

The liver, the largest organ in the body, is essential in keeping the body functioning properly. In cirrhosis of the liver, scar tissue replaces normal, healthy tissue, blocking the flow of blood through the organ and preventing it from working as it should. Cirrhosis is the twelfth leading cause of death by disease, killing about 26,000 people each year.
